Blizzard Entertainment

The arrival of Overwatch 2's Season 7 brings with it a substantial rework to Sombra, shaking up the DPS meta like never before. If you're struggling to decide which hero to main, fear not! We've got your back with this DPS hero tier list, verified by the Top 500 expert himself, Theomatic.

F Tier Heroes

Reaper

Reaper, despite his close-range potency, lands in F tier. He struggles to make his mark on maps with longer sightlines, particularly on Push and most Escort maps. While he can perform well against Rammatra, it may not be enough to propel him out of the F tier due to challenges in fitting into the more powerful team compositions.

 pharah.png

Pharah

Pharah takes a nosedive into F tier due to the threat posed by Sojourn's alternate fire. The once-mighty Pharah-Mercy combo faces heightened vulnerability in the face of Sombra's surge in Season 7, as Mercy becomes an easier support to pin down with Hack. And without a Mercy, is Pharah even a real hero?! We think not.

Junkrat

Junkrat, a force to be reckoned with on close-range maps, finds himself struggling to have an impact on two-thirds of the map pool. Additionally, as tanks gain more self-sustain over time, Junkrat's ability to deal meaningful poke damage prior to team engagements has been substantially reduced.

D Tier Heroes

 widow.png

Widowmaker

Widowmaker remains a formidable pick if your sharpshooting skills are on point. However, she heavily relies on exploiting long sightlines and static objectives to maximize her effectiveness. Sombra's increased presence poses an additional threat to Widow, who can easily fall victim to sneaky flanks. Avoid unless you're a headshot machine.

 mei.png

Mei

Despite recent changes to her passive, Mei's utility remains inconsistent. High-damage DPS heroes can swiftly blast down her Ice Wall, and support heroes like Lifeweaver and Kiriko can rescue frozen targets from her Blizzard. Although her damage output has improved, Mei still lags behind most DPS heroes in this regard, making her a less desirable

C Tier Heroes

hanzo.png

Hanzo

Hanzo claims a spot in C tier thanks to his ability to deliver both spam damage and one-shot eliminations. His Storm Arrows offer substantial burst damage, even against the sturdiest of tanks. Additionally, his Sonic Arrow is a valuable tool in virtually all team compositions. However, his susceptibility to being out-spammed by other DPS heroes relegates him to C tier, a significant factor in a meta dominated by spam.

echo.png

Echo

Echo maintains her position in C tier, offering impressive poke damage, mobility, and burst potential. Two key issues prevent her from ascending to A tier. First, Illari's anti-air capabilities prove problematic for Echo. Second, the growing momentum of Doomfist and Ramattra presents challenges, as they can effectively block and outlast Echo's burst damage better than most tanks. Not a bad pick to main, but not the best unless you're an Echo fanatic.

B Tier Heroes

Tracer

Tracer zips into B tier, celebrated for her exceptional flexibility. She consistently proves her worth on every map in Overwatch 2, effectively disrupting enemy supports and creating havoc on objectives. Her sole drawback, keeping her from A tier, is Cassidy, who is the next hero on our list.

cass.png

Cassidy

Cassidy secures a place in B tier following a damage reduction buff to his Combat Roll, scaling from 50% up to 75%. He stands out as one of the few DPS heroes capable of holding his own against Tracer and other flankers, consistently emerging victorious. Combined with his mid and long-range poke potential, Cassidy offers a well-rounded choice for DPS mains in Season 7.

ashe.png

Ashe

A solid all-around selection, Ashe occupies the middle of B tier. She boasts strong long-range damage, decent performance at close range, and the ability to punish grouped-up enemies with her Dynamite. Her Coach Gun, however, serves as a relatively slower and less reliable escape tool, which can hinder her in the face of enemy divers. Nevertheless, Ashe remains an excellent choice, provided you prioritize secure positioning.

sym.png

Symmetra

The queen of brawl compositions, Symmetra reigns supreme in close-range confrontations. Her concentrated firepower is unparalleled among the entire DPS roster, limited only by range. Symmetra's ultimate ability often guarantees a decisive victory in various scenarios, with Sombra's EMP being the sole reliable counter. A great pick while the meta persists!

A Tier Heroes

genji.png

Genji

Genji drops to A tier! While he remains a potent pick, he takes a hit from Sombra's growing popularity. Sombra's Hack neutralizes Genji's core abilities, rendering him vulnerable. Without wall climb, double jump, Deflect, or dash, Genji becomes an easy target. Nevertheless, as long as you avoid choosing Genji into Sombra, your performance can still shine.

torb.png

Torbjorn

Despite recent adjustments to his fire rate, Torbjorn firmly holds his A tier status. His straightforward spam-style gameplay and impressive durability make him a valuable asset to most brawl compositions. An ideal pick for securing those essential victories in ranked play, so be sure to keep Torbjorn in your arsenal.

sombra.png

Sombra

The star of the A tier, Sombra undergoes a transformation with her rework, emerging as elusive as ever. Paired with a substantial increase in her kill potential via her Virus ability, Sombra catapults from F tier to join the meta's elite picks in Season 7. There's no better time than now to master Talon's favorite hacker.

sold.png

Soldier 76

At the pinnacle of A tier, Soldier: 76 retains his status as the jack of all trades. While he lacks notable strengths, he is also devoid of significant weaknesses, making him an A-tier mainstay. A skilled Soldier: 76 player can exploit positioning, his Sprint, and the Heal Station to outlast all but the most intense enemy focus fire. His adaptability at all ranges solidifies him as a potent pick for any DPS main in Season 7.

S Tier Heroes

soj.png

Sojourn

Once again, Sojourn shines in S tier. Surpassing Soldier, her ability to deliver burst fire is sure to unlock incredible value, especially when paired with Sombra's Hack. Her ultimate, Overclock, rewards individual mechanical skill, meaning that the more effort you invest in mastering your aim, the more formidable Sojourn becomes. She emerges as a god-tier pick for Season 7.

bast.png

Bastion

The undisputed meta king of Season 7 is Bastion, and it's no surprise. With a 360 DPS turret form, Bastion strikes fear into the hearts of tank heroes and wreaks havoc in the midst of brawls. Paired with the reworked Sombra, any hero targeted by Bastion faces minimal chances of survival. Be sure to keep Bastion in your back pocket for those pivotal must-win games in Season 7!
