WoW Roadmap 2024: Dragonflight Season 4 & The War Within Expansion

World of Warcraft retail players will be getting a lot of content, some even sooner than expected with the highly-anticipated release of the newest expansion The War Within coming in 2024. 

We will be taking a look at all of the new additions to Dragonflight that will be coming along with the release plan for the next expansion in the series.

So far, Dragonflight has been able to undo some of the damage Shadowlands inflicted on the player base, with even more people jumping back into WoW seemingly finding themselves enjoying most of the content in Dragonflight.

Without further ado, let's get into the action!

WoW Retail Winter 2023-2024 Releases

Dragonflight will be getting even more content in Patch 10.2.5 with Dragon Isles epilogues, the Cataclysm campaign Reclamation of Gilneas, the addition of Dragonriding becoming worldwide, the new Follower Dungeons to help novice players, Azerothian Archives, the Outland Cup for all racing enthusiasts and a Hearthstone Anniversary event. 

There is also an elusive pirate flag signifying the upcoming 10.2.6 patch which might contain Pirate-themed content and The War Within Alpha version coming late winter-early spring.

WoW Retail Spring 2024 Releases

Season 4 of Dragonflight will be released with a lot of the expansion's raids being revisited along with a new PvP Season, a new Mythic+ Season, and new open world rewards for player looking for more adventures.

Following Season 4, the next 10.2.7 patch called Dark Heart, we will also hit live servers with possibly the introduction of Mists of Pandaria content in the Timerunning: Pandamonium, Harbinger Quests, Troll and Draenei heritage armor questlines, and a new holiday event. 

WoW Retail Summer 2024 Releases

Come summer, Blizzard will be preparing players by introducing The War Within Pre-Patch 11.0.1 which will include world events, warbands, dynamic flight, and guild updates to get everyone in the mood for the new expansion.

During late summer or early autumn, The War Within will hit live servers with a brand new campaign story, the introduction of solo-player content called Delves, exciting hero talents, the new Earthen allied race, 4 new zones, 8 new dungeons, a new raid and a new PvP Season.

Later on, Patch 11.0.5 will also add a new story and quests by further adding to The War Within expansion, new content system updates, and a special 20th-anniversary event celebrating World of Warcraft's legacy. 

Summary

Overall, a very ambitious and exciting roadmap for 2024 as Blizzard seeks to restore its former glory as a company, and hopefully under the guidance of the new management and the return of Chris Metzen, the lore and gameplay will reach its former heights. 

Not only is there a lot to unpack content-wise for Retail WoW, but Classic WoW is also getting a lot of love from the devs and players so we will be looking forward to a WoW-filled year of adventures!
