The excitement surrounding COD 2023 is mounting, with a slew of leaks and confirmations heralding the arrival of a new iteration of Modern Warfare 3 this year. As the launch date approaches, here's a comprehensive rundown of everything we currently know about this year's COD title.

Release Date and Official Confirmation:

Modern Warfare 3 is set to make its grand entrance on November 10, 2023, as Activision officially announced on August 8. This date aligns with the typical release window for Call of Duty titles, although circumstances may change.

Modern Warfare 3 Logo Unveiled:

Leaked promotional materials emerged on July 24, showcasing the game's logo and artwork through a Monster Energy campaign. Captain Price assumes a prominent role, with a mysterious figure looming in the backdrop. The visual theme is dominated by a striking red palette, a detail that was confirmed when the logo was formally revealed on August 8. This new emblematic design departs from the blue hues of MW2.

Development by Sledgehammer Games:

Sledgehammer Games is spearheading the development of Modern Warfare 3, allowing Treyarch a full three-year cycle to craft the 2024 COD title. This decision shortens Sledgehammer's development cycle to two years, a studio that previously crafted Call of Duty: Vanguard in 2021. This endeavor, however, will receive support from other Activision studios, including Infinity Ward and Treyarch.

The Future of Warzone:

While no official statements have been issued regarding Warzone's fate alongside Modern Warfare 3's launch, leaks suggest a significant alteration. Reports indicate the introduction of a new Warzone map called Las Almas, originating from the Modern Warfare 2 campaign. This expansive battlefield is purportedly set to debut with Season 1 in December 2023.

Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer Features:

Leaked images from an Alpha build of the upcoming Call of Duty hinted at a return to earlier gameplay styles. The reintroduction of Red Dots on the minimap and a traditional Perk system are among the notable features. Players will spot enemy gunfire on the minimap and Perks won't need gradual unlocking. Perks will be categorized based on Gear in four slots: Helmet, Vest, Gloves, and Boots. The iconic Ninja Perk is expected to resurface, quieting footsteps.

Modern Warfare 3 Zombies:

A Zombies mode named 'Outbreak 2.0' is rumored to be part of Modern Warfare 3. This moniker pays homage to the Outbreak mode in Black Ops Cold War. The distinction between whether this mode will be part of the premium package or an independent free-to-play addition has yet to be clarified.
