In Lords of the Fallen 2, knowing how to manage your character's stats is crucial. This guide explains what stat soft caps are and why they matter. These soft caps represent points where increasing a stat won't give you as many benefits as before. For instance, after a certain level of Strength, adding more points won't significantly boost your weapon damage. Understanding when to stop investing in a stat can make your character much more powerful.

What Are Stat Soft Caps?

In Lords of the Fallen 2, stat soft caps are specific values for each attribute where the bonuses you gain start to decrease. For example, once you reach a high enough Strength, each additional point won't make your weapon damage go up as much as it did before. This means that it's usually not worth it to push a stat beyond its soft cap.

Soft Cap Values for All Stats

This guide provides the soft cap values for each character attribute in the game. Remember, some stats have more than one soft cap, meaning there are multiple points where your attribute improvements start to slow down as the stat gets higher.

Stat Soft Cap Values
Strength 50/75
Agility 50/75
Endurance 20/40/60
Vitality 20/40/60
Radiance 50/75
Inferno 50/75

Understanding Stat Attributes

To grasp these soft caps better, let's dive into the basic attributes:

  • Strength: It affects how much damage you deal with weapons that use Strength. It also improves physical defense and slightly boosts defense against Fire, Holy, and Wither.

  • Agility: It increases damage with weapons that scale with Agility, such as daggers and short swords. It also slightly enhances your defense against Fire, Holy, and Wither. Agility affects ranged weapons too.

  • Endurance: This stat mainly affects your maximum stamina and how much you can carry. It also improves your defense against physical damage, Fire, Holy, and Wither. It's essential if you're using heavy weapons and armor.

  • Vitality: It decides how much health you have (HP). More Vitality means you can take more hits before you're defeated. It also slightly increases your equipment load capacity.

  • Radiance: It's important for weapons that scale with Radiance and affects your maximum Mana. Radiance also determines your ability to use specific magic spells and enhances your defense against Fire, Holy, Wither, and physical damage, albeit not by much.

  • Inferno: Much like Radiance, Inferno improves the damage of weapons that use it as a scaling factor, increases your maximum Mana, and unlocks certain magic spells. Inferno also boosts your defense against Fire, Holy, Wither, and physical damage, though the increase is small.

Respeccing Your Character Stats

If you ever need to change your character's attributes, you can talk to Pieta at the hub. However, this service only becomes available after you've beaten Pieta in her boss form, near the entrance to Skyrest Bridge. Keep in mind that every time you respec, you'll need a rare item called a "Rebirth Chrysalis," so use this option wisely to fine-tune your character's abilities in the challenging world of Lords of the Fallen.
