Helldivers 2 released just a couple of days ago, and it has already garnered a huge following, quickly becoming one of the most played games on Steam. With the game taking on the live-service model, we can expect a ton of new content to be added in the coming months. The game is designed to have staying power, with multiple different ways to change and upgrade your character, and you will be mainly doing this through resources and currencies.

Even at launch, the game already has multiple different currencies, which can be used to buy new equipment, to upgrade your ship, or to just get a fancy new armor from the store. Many of them lack descriptions, making it hard to understand what they are for and where you can get them from. In this article, we are going to go over all of the different types of currency in the game, what they are used for, and how you can get more of them in Helldivers 2.

Helldivers 2: All Currency Items and How to Use Them

Here are all of the different currencies and resources you can find in Helldivers 2:

Requisition Slips

Requisition Slips are one of the main currencies you will be using in Helldivers 2. These slips can be used to unlock all of the different Stratagems in the game, which include a wide array of different support weapons, orbital strikes, and sentry turrets. Keep in mind that some of these Stratagems are also going to have a certain level requirement attached to them. You can earn Requisition Slips in a few different ways, but mainly by completing missions. Here are all of the ways in which you can earn Requisition Slips:

  • From Primary and Secondary mission objective.
  • From the Major Order weekly mission.

Medals

Medals are probably the most important currency in Helldivers 2, as they are the main way of unlocking new weapons and body armor. The game features a ton of different tiers of rewards in their Warbonds menu, which can only be unlocked by spending these Medals. We recommend unlocking most of the more practical items first, which include the primary and secondary weapons, as well as the body armors and boosters. Medals can be earned by completing different missions and operations within the different planets. Here is the full list of tasks that will provide you with Medals:

  • From completing Missions.
  • From completing Operations (the different regions that have a few missions together)
  • From the Personal Order daily mission.

Samples

Samples are probably the resource that is the most confusing on how it works in Helldivers 2. These samples are used to buy ship modules, which are permanent upgrades for your character. These can range from cooldown reductions of your Stratagems to increasing the total ammunition capacity of your Sentries. Samples are split into three different types based on their rarity, with the last two only being available in certain difficulties.

Samples can be found on different planets during your missions, mainly around different places of interest, such as enemy hives and bases, as well as in some of the locations you will go to complete your secondary objectives. You will also drop any of the samples you have gathered if you die, so make sure to go back and collect them once you redeploy.

Super Credits

Super Credits are the premium currency of Helldivers 2, which can be used to buy different items from the in-game shop, as well as the premium Warbonds, which can unlock new weapons and body armor. While these Super Credits can be bought for real money from the store, you are also able to find them in-game in various Vaults and Loot Containers. They are somewhat rare, and the developers have stated that you are likely to earn between 10 and 40 Super Credits per hour if you are paying attention while doing your missions.
