Hugo is finally out, and if you have given in and pulled for our stunning vampire friend, then you’re probably looking for how to build him. Luckily for you, if you’ve been stocking up on some Ice and Stun units or have grown tired of playing your Ellen, you might already have a perfect team for Hugo. Let’s check out some good teams you can use for him!

Hugo Best Teams
Hugo introduces a new mechanic known as Totalize to the game. This mechanic allows him to pump out some huge numbers by consuming an enemy’s Stun bar. The longer an enemy is stunned, the more damage Hugo will be able to dish out, and the more often you stun an enemy, the more Totalize procs he’ll be able to trigger. Combine this with his Core skill, which gives him a 300/900 boost to ATK depending on whether he’s paired with 1 or 2 other Stun agents, and you can easily see that Hugo is meant to be used in a team with two other Stun agents. His best buddies in this case naturally happen to be Lycaon, for his Ice DMG buffs and quick Daze application, and Lighter, once again for his Ice DMG buffs and quick Daze application, as well as Stun duration extension. But even if you don’t have both of them, don’t fret, as you can use almost any other Stun unit with Hugo and still get some decent numbers. With that out of the way, let’s look at three example teams for Hugo!

Hugo | Lycaon | Lighter |
This team can currently bring out the most of Hugo’s damage. The Ice DMG buffs that both Lycaon and Lighter provide are a great way to directly boost Hugo’s damage output. In addition, the extended Stun duration that Lighter applies is an indirect means of boosting Hugo’s Totalize damage. Lastly, with two stun agents in the team, Hugo fully utilizes his Core’s passive to gain 900 additional ATK. All in all, with this team, you can see upwards of 4 million hits on Hugo’s Totalize, and it is a great team to bring into any type of content.

Hugo | Lycaon | Soukaku |
If you’re lacking Lighter and have grown tired of playing Ellen, then you can take Lycaon and Soukaku and swap them over to Hugo to build a fun and easy-to-use team. While this team falls slightly short of the Lycaon + Lighter combo, it is still a decent choice if you happen to have both Lycaon and Soukaku built up. Soukaku can offer some nice ATK buffs, and while you will find yourselves stunning the enemy less often, the damage for Hygo’s Totalizes is still strong, and Lycaon does a great job at stunning enemies even by himself.

Hugo | Pulchra | Soukaku |
Finally, if you have neither Lycaon nor Lighter, you can also use Pulchra, which you should’ve been able to get for free from the previous version’s main event. Pulchra is a clear step-down from both Lycaon and Lighter, and if you can get her replaced, then you will certainly see way higher numbers from Hugo. Even so, she is still a sort of okayish unit to use until you manage to get to Hugo’s alternative team and start seeing some of those high numbers.
