Phase 2 of World of Warcraft's Season of Discovery is almost here, with a confirmed launch date of February 8th, and players are excited to continue the journey on their level 25 characters. The new phase is going to bring a ton of new content to the game, turning the Gnomeregan dungeon into a full 10-player raid, adding a new PvP event to Stranglethorn Vale, and introducing a wide array of new runes for each of the classes.

One of the new additions to the game, confirmed in their new blog post, is Dungeon Skill Books. This is a brand-new item in the game that aims to provide players with some quality-of-life improvements to their characters. In this article, we are going to explain how these Dungeon Skill Books work, as well as how you will be able to obtain them!

What Are Dungeon Skill Books? Season of Discovery Phase 2

Phase 2 of Season of Discovery is bringing a ton of new content to the game, with new runes and a new Raid at the forefront, but one of the lesser-known additions will be Dungeon Skill Books. These items will be able to drop from various enemies inside some of the 5-player dungeons in the game. While the exact dungeons have not been mentioned, we believe they will come from any of the level 25-40 ones, which would make sense with the increased level cap.

These Skill Books are going to provide classes with quality-of-life improvements to some of their skills, without taking up any rune slots. The Skill Books that have been shown by Blizzard in their recent blog post have been a little vague as to what they do:

  • Paladin - Teaches you Enhanced Blessings.
  • Shaman - Teaches you Totemic Projection.
  • Rogue - Teaches you Redirect.

These are likely to improve the Paladin's uptime on their blessing or allow the Shaman to move their Totems. None of this is confirmed; we are just speculating on how they might work. Either way, locking out quality-of-life features to drops from dungeons does seem a little weird, but it is perfectly in line with what players expect from the Classic WoW experience.

That is everything you need to know about Dungeon Skill Books in Phase 2 of Season of Discovery. Blizzard has hinted that there will be many more Skill Books at launch, so we are interested to see how they are going to work.
