THE FINALS 12.1.0 Patch Notes - Translocator Nerf & More
We break down every change in THE FINALS update 12.1.0, from the Translocator range cut and weapon nerfs to new UI settings and bug fixes.

THE FINALS update 12.1.0 was published on October 29, 2026, and it brings a mysterious fog to the Arena along with a new cosmetic set. The update trims the Translocator, the CB-01 Repeater and the Pike-556, adds new interface settings and fixes a long list of bugs in THE FINALS.
We will go over every change in THE FINALS 12.1.0, from the balance changes and Mimic Device fixes to the new UI options and the developers' note on gyro controls.
THE FINALS 12.1.0 Highlights
- Translocator: max range drops from 70m to 50m.
- CB-01 Repeater: damage drops from 88 to 85.
- Pike-556: headshot multiplier drops from 1.75 to 1.5.
- Shotgun hit markers: they now last 0.5s instead of 1s, and you can switch them off.
- Store: the Revenant Countess Set is available.
- Event: you have one more week to collect tickets during the Frights Galore Event.
Store and Moderation
The Revenant Countess Set lets you return to the Arena from beyond the grave, and the developers say it brings everything you need for the season of pumpkins, skeletons and spiders.
The new moderation tools that arrived with PRIME TIME have gone through over 10M messages and 500k+ display names. The developers are still tweaking the systems and still sifting older display names through them. If you believe your username was flagged unnecessarily, you can fill out the form linked in the official notes so the name can be reviewed. You can also report chat words and phrases that you think are flagged without need.
12.1.0 Balance Changes
Translocator
- Max range: 70m ⇒ 50m
The developers say the Translocator has had a higher impact than they first expected. Alongside some bugs and balance issues, they have seen feedback that enemies rapidly vanishing can feel very frustrating. This update addresses some of those bugs, and the range cut is part of bringing the balance to where it should be. They still feel there is more to do, so expect further changes as the season goes on.
CB-01 Repeater
- Damage: 88 ⇒ 85
Early data from Season 12 shows the CB-01 may be slightly over-tuned, so this change nudges it down to a more reasonable spot.
Pike-556
- Headshot multiplier: 1.75 ⇒ 1.5
The Pike jumped significantly in usage, damage output and kill rates after the 12.0 changes, making it one of the more dominant weapons in the game. The developers still believe it needed help but say they went too far, so this headshot adjustment brings it back down slightly.
Shotgun Hit Markers
- Shotgun pellet hit marker duration: 1s ⇒ 0.5s
Some players find the shotgun hit markers intrusive. Update 12.1 shortens their default duration and adds an option to turn them off.

12.1.0 Bug Fixes
Gadgets
- Mimic Device: fixed both the prop's shadow and a Contestant-shaped shadow being displayed, which revealed the user's position.
- Mimic Device: fixed an invisible Contestant-shaped collision being left behind after elimination by an explosion, which blocked movement and projectiles until respawn or revive.
- Mimic Device: fixed momentum being carried over after dashing, which caused unexpected speed changes.
- Mimic Device: fixed players passing through Cashout Stations and Grand Vaults.

- Fine-tuned the M60 Lagoon skin to prevent sight obstruction when aiming down sights.
- Fixed Concrete Canopy skins appearing gray.

- Adjusted Monaco Evening lighting to reduce contrast.
- Improved lighting on Seoul in the Afternoon, Foggy and Storm conditions.
- Adjusted height fog so it no longer interferes with Smoke Grenade effects.
- Refined the Afternoon condition's lighting in SKYWAY STADIUM with color, haze and brightness and contrast adjustments.
Gyro Controls Update
The developers say a good number of players use gyro controls in THE FINALS through third-party software. They don't want players using gyro to be banned, but some third-party setups, especially ones that map gyro to mouse or keyboard, can be indistinguishable from cheating, and that is not easy to solve.
- Third-party software for gyro controls is not officially supported, and using it risks a ban from the anti-cheat detection.
- The recommendation is to use only the native gyro support in the game.
- Current native support covers only DualSense controllers and has a small set of options.
- The team is working on updating native gyro support with more settings for a wider range of supported peripherals. It will take some time.
And that covers all of the changes in THE FINALS 12.1.0. You can read the official patch notes on the Steam news page, and look back at earlier updates in our THE FINALS 3.2.0 patch notes or the THE FINALS 4.9.0 FANFARE event update.
