Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Operators, Weapons & Loadout Details
Infinity Ward has detailed all 33 Operators, 33 weapons, and the Perks, equipment and Killstreaks you can unlock in Modern Warfare 4 Multiplayer.

Infinity Ward has published its full loadout rundown for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, which launches on October 23. The post covers Operators, weapons, Gunsmith, equipment, Killstreaks and Perks across Multiplayer and DMZ. It also details how unlocks work, with most gear tied to Player Levels 1 to 55.
Below, we pull out the details that matter most for building your first classes, with unlock levels taken from the official post on Steam.
Operators in Modern Warfare 4
There are 33 Operators at launch, usable in both Multiplayer and DMZ. You can now assign a different Operator to each loadout: open Create-a-Class in the Multiplayer menu and pick the Operator field at the top of a loadout.
Operators unlock in several ways:
- Available immediately: Min-Hee, CTSFO, Mil-Sim KSK Arctic, UCTF and Army SF Airborne.
- Campaign missions: Cho unlocks after "Mayhem", Dallas after "Hired Gun" and Luca after "Traffic", among others.
- DMZ levels: Reece unlocks at DMZ Player Level 4, Coffey at 9, Simone at 15 and Hector at 19.
- Multiplayer challenges: Zimo needs 50 Operator Headshot kills, and Jae needs 50 Operator Hipfire kills.
- Editions and packs: Ghost, Blix and Price come with the Vault Edition, and Kyle comes via the Call of Duty Endowment Valor Pack.
Weapons and Gunsmith
Modern Warfare 4 launches with 33 weapons: 24 primary weapons, 8 secondary weapons and one melee weapon, the FSS Carbon Edge 1095 knife. The primary list covers 8 assault rifles, 5 SMGs, 2 shotguns, 3 LMGs, 3 marksman rifles and 3 sniper rifles. Secondaries are split evenly between 4 pistols and 4 launchers.
Create-a-Class opens at Player Level 4, and until then you deploy with premade default loadouts. The Han 86 assault rifle is available from Level 4, with 30 rounds, 90 in reserve and 740 RPM. Fully leveling a weapon unlocks its unique Apex Attachment, which doesn't use up an attachment slot. The Han 86's is the Han X20 Skybreaker, an airburst launcher.
Attachment progression has changed, too:
- Each Attachment unlocks only once and is then available on every weapon that can use it.
- If a weapon level would award an Attachment you already own, you skip it with a Bonus Level Up.
- Gunny, an attachment optimizer, suggests builds from your unlocked Attachments for close, balanced or long-range play.
You can test builds in the Firing Range, which has practice dummies at 10, 25, 50 and 100 meters.
Equipment, Killstreaks and Perks
Multiplayer gear is split into 9 Tacticals, 11 Lethals, 12 Field Upgrades and 17 Killstreaks, with most unlocks spread across Player Levels 1 to 55. Killstreaks cost between 4 and 12 kills, and each loadout carries its own set. Our list of Black Ops 6 Scorestreaks covers the previous game's equivalent.
Perks return to a Pick 3 system, with six options in each of three categories. Level 4 gives you Quick Fix, Overkill, Hardline, Blood Rush, Lethal Reach and Combat Grid. Later unlocks include Ghost at Level 24 and Cold-Blooded at Level 36. Overkill lets you carry two primary weapons, and Hardline reduces Killstreak cost by 1.
That covers the main loadout building blocks before launch. For more Call of Duty reading in the meantime, see our look at the best weapons in Modern Warfare 3 and our list of Black Ops 6 Multiplayer Perks.
