Diablo 4's patch 1.4.0 is going to debut in the first-ever Public Testing Realm for the game, which will be available for a full week starting on April 2nd. Most of the changes that are coming with this update are going to go live with Season 4, including the brand new itemization rework, boss ladder additions, and a whole lot of class balance adjustments. Blizzard has decided that the scope of the update is too large to release straight away, so all of these changes will first go through the PTR.
This will provide the developers with a lot of feedback, which they will be able to iterate on and hopefully create a better experience for the launch of the season. Here is everything you need to know about how to join the Diablo 4 Public Testing Realm.
