To get the Medusa Head, you need to fight against Medusa first in the game. The Medusa can be encountered in the Caliginous Depths, situated southwest of Bakbattahl in the Battahl Region.

As players approach the Medusa's lair, they will notice an increasing number of petrified statues, indicating the presence of the fearsome creature.

To prepare for the battle, make sure to have a Malleating Elixir, crafted by combining Cinnamon Bark and Goldthistle. This elixir cures petrification, a common status effect during the battle.

To acquire the Medusa Head, players must sever the head from the creature's body. The most effective way to achieve this is by using slashing weapons, such as the Warrior's greatsword.

Climbing on Medusa's back and attacking its head or knocking it down are both effective strategies too. Medusa is weak against lightning damage, so having Pawns with Lightning Boon can greatly improve success chances in defeating this boss.

The Medusa head's quality depends on its health when it's severed. Cutting it early gives the player a Preserved Medusa Head, while later gives a weaker version.

The Medusa Head works like a Lantern in Dragon's Dogma 2. When aimed at an enemy, it shoots a petrifying beam that slowly turns them to stone. This is very effective against tough bosses like the Cyclops, Griffin, and Drake. Once fully petrified, one hit will defeat them, making the Medusa Head very useful for tough fights.

However, it is important to remember that the Medusa Head's power will deteriorate over time and with repeated use. To keep its power, players should store the Medusa Head in a chest at an inn when not needed and only use it during tough boss fights.

Follow this guide and use the Medusa Head strategically so that you can have a good advantage in conquering the dangerous world of Dragon's Dogma 2!
