Inzoi Studio

The inZOI team has published a new developer letter titled "One Step at a Time," posted on Steam on November 6, 2026. In it, Kjun explains which bugs the team is chasing, what comes next, and how DLC will work after the game leaves Early Access.

If you play inZOI, the letter answers some long-running questions about fixes, features and pricing. Here's what the developers said, based on the official Steam post.

Bug Fixes and Requested Features

The team reviewed this week's feedback and bug reports and passed them to the development team. Kjun said that once the December update is finished, the studio may need to stop developing new things for a while and focus entirely on fixing bugs and awkward parts of the game.

Issues currently under investigation include:

  • The Dedicated trait not working properly
  • Smart Zoi repeatedly having the same thoughts and behaviors
  • Drag-and-drop functionality
  • Changes to the appearance of saved characters

Drag-and-drop is nearly complete, so the team expects to include it in an update. There's no firm timeline for the other fixes yet, but confirmed fixes will be shared through the patch notes.

The team also reviewed requests for improved search, sorting and filtering of downloaded lots, partial painting of walls and floors, curved walls, and better object placement.

DLC Policy and What's Coming Next

Kjun clarified the DLC policy. DLC released during Early Access will be free, and any DLC you download during Early Access will remain available after the full release. New DLC released after the full launch may be sold as paid content. Pricing is still being discussed internally, and more information will follow once it has been decided.

The next update is planned for December, and the schedule and contents will be shared as soon as they're finalized. Kjun also apologized that the team's short development schedules sometimes lead to updates that leave players wishing for more, and wondered whether updating more slowly might deliver a higher level of polish.

Other plans mentioned in the letter:

  • Continued improvements to character animations and NPC autonomy
  • A wider range of career choices in the Celebrity Update
  • Discussions about officially adding some modder-made quality-of-life features, following the many mods released since the script mod update
  • Development starting on entering a city directly when starting a new game, while Bubbly is currently in development

There's no confirmed schedule for the Classic UI, height adjustment, or entering a city directly at the start of a new game. The team has recorded the other questions and requests it received and promises more information once its plans are final.
