A new month means a new Helldivers 2 Warbond, and it seems like for May we are going to be getting an ice-themed collection of equipment. This Warbond is going to be called Polar Patriots and, similar to the previous Democratic Detonation Warbond, it will feature 3 new primary weapons, 1 new secondary weapon, as well as a unique grenade. In terms of armor, we are going to be getting the usual 3 sets of body armor, as well as some capes, emotes, and a brand new booster, which is called Motivational Shocks. Players are going to be able to buy this Warbond with Super Credits, which can be obtained both through in-game missions, as well as the shop and the items inside of the Warbond can then be unlocked through Medals.

New weapons and armor sets in Helldivers 2 are always exciting, and in this article, we are going to take a look at everything new that is coming to the game with the Polar Patriots Warbond, including all of the equipment, the release date, and the price!

In terms of weapons, the Polar Patriots Warbond features 3 new primary weapons, a secondary weapon, and the G-13 Incendiary Impact grenade. Out of all of the new options, the highlight seems to be the PLAS-101 Purifier, which is an energy-based weapon that can deal explosive damage through armor. The AR-61 Tenderizer is a new SMG that has a slower rate of fire but deals an increased amount of staggering damage. We are also getting a brand new Assault Rifle, the AR-61 Tenderizer, which has a limited magazine but deals much more damage than some of the other options that are available.

Here are the details for these new primary weapons, as provided by the new PlayStation blog for Helldivers 2:

  • AR-61 Tenderizer: A real tentacle-tearer. This high calibre assault rifle has awesome stopping power but limited magazine size, so make each shot count. Unpatriotic “banter” shots are not advisable.
  • SMG-72 Pummeler: A slower rate of fire than your other SMGs but these concussive rounds will leave your enemies dazed, confused, and still very ugly. Good things come to Helldivers who wait.
  • PLAS-101 Purifier: Set the trap. Hold the trigger. Let them charge at you. Smile. They’re getting closer. Smile again. Closer. Smile. Closer. Smile. Closer… and release the trigger. S.P.L.A.T. The longer you can hold your nerve, and the trigger, the bigger the damage.

P-113 Verdict is the latest secondary weapon, and while it does not seem like it will be as meta-defining as the Grenade Pistol from the Democratic Detonation Warbond, it will surely pack a punch in dire situations. It's a semi-automatic pistol that will be perfect to swap to whenever you run out of bullets in your primary weapon.

  • P-113 Verdict: The guys in R&D love this one. Gas-operated, semi-automatic, and chambers the largest centrefire cartridge of any lunpistol of its kind. “Rapid Deliberation”, they call it. Quick-draw to look cool in front of your squad.

The G-13 Incendiary Impact and the Motivational Shocks booster are also going to be available in the Polar Patriots Warbond, and they seem like interesting choices for a Warbond with the 'polar' theme. The G-13 Incendiary seems to be quite similar to the current impact grenade in the game, but it leaves behind a trail of fire near its explosion radius. Based on its description, the Motivational Shocks booster is going to either make you immune to acid and slows or it's going to reduce their effectiveness, which is going to make it a great choice against the Terminid faction.

  • G-13 Incendiary Impact: Don’t waste time reading the instructions, lob it at the enemy and run. This thing detonates on impact and ignites the area in white phosphorus, so make sure you – and your allies – are not standing around having a chat.
  • Motivational Shocks: Literally shocks Helldivers back into action after being hit and slowed by sneaky, unjust attacks like the revolting bug acid vomit. Won’t help you much with area effects like EMS strikes, though.

Helldivers 2 Polar Patriots Warbond New Armor Sets

Three new armor sets are also going to be available in the new Polar Patriots Warbond in Helldivers 2. By the looks of it, these armors are going to be Light, Medium, and Heavy, giving all playstyles a new addition to their collection. The CW-36 Winter Warrior is going to come with the Servo-assisted perk, while the CW-22 Kodiak will be Fortified. Based on the description of the CW-4 Arctic Ranger, we can't really make out what kind of perk it will have, but it might either be Medic, Engineer, or a brand new one.

  • CW-36 Winter Warrior: Blend into snowy environments with perfect camouflage. The enemy will never see you coming, until it’s far too late. Ah the sweet smell of stealth. Passive boost – Serve-assisted.
  • CW-22 Kodiak: Thoroughly pressure-tested by patriotic volunteers as part of the Test Subjects for Super Earth Citizen Advancement Programme. Their sacrifice shall not be forgotten. Passive boost – Fortified.
  • CW-4 Arctic Ranger: Features a nifty utility belt boasting handy pockets that can be filled with any number of things – pocket knives, mementoes, interesting rocks, Terminid tentacles, bits of bots, etc.

While capes do not have any intrinsic value other than how cool you look, the new Polar Patriots Warbond is going to have 3 new additions. All of these capes seem to be designed around the new armor sets, but with some mixing and matching, we are sure that players are going to be able to find them new homes as well. Who knew that managed democracy would be so stylish.

  • Dissident’s Nightmare: Scientifically proven to be “terrifying” to dissent-afflicted citizens during extensive testing in Patriotic Rehabilitation Centres.
  • Pinions of Everlasting Glory: All but ensures ascension to the immortal ranks of those enshrined in the Super Earth Digital Archive of Valorous Acts.
  • Order of the Venerated Ballot: Adorned with the insignia of the Order of the Venerated Ballot – a Ministry-sanctioned Patriot’s Club for citizens pledging to preserve the sanctity of voting.

Helldivers 2 Polar Patriots Warbond Release Date & Price

The new Polar Patriots Warbond for Helldivers 2 is set to launch on May 9th. While the price of the Warbond has not been officially revealed, it's highly likely to be 1,000 Super Credits, just like all of the previous ones. Arrowhead Game Studios did announce that there will be a new Warbond coming to the game every second Thursday of each month. Judging by some of the descriptions of these weapons, we might also be close to seeing the debut of the Illuminate faction this summer. Hopefully, all of the new weapons and armor sets are fun and interesting to use, so players can continue to have fun while spreading democracy across the galactic map.

That is everything you need to know about the new Polar Patriots Warbond in Helldivers 2. With new weapons, armor sets, and cosmetics coming to the game each month, new loadouts and playstyles are always developing and we can't wait to see what kind of combinations players manage to create against both of the factions.
