Enshrouded Best Mage Build: Skill Tree, Stats, and Gear
This guide covers the best build in Enshrouded for Battlemages, Wizards, and wand-users!

There are a ton of ways to play a Mage in Enshrouded, from the healing skill paths to alternating between staff and wand and focusing on either the Battlemage skill tree or the Wizard skill tree. This guide, sourced from Enshrouded mega-mind, Mordarim, covers a wand-using Wizard build with solid survivability and enough power to destroy just about any enemy in Enshrouded Early Access. The skill order below was written before the 1.0 release, so check the version 1.0.0.0 changes further down before you spend points.
Enshrouded Wizard Build Gameplay
Early gameplay will be centered around spamming with your wand attacks while using throwable bomb items to AoE down groups of enemies. You'll also be kiting enemies a lot, so get used to backing up while spamming that wand.
You'll eventually be skilling into bonus passive health regeneration, as well as AoE damage via Chain Hit in the Wizard skill tree, both of which will be huge power spikes as you level your character.
Enshrouded Wizard: Best Stats
Intelligence is king! The ability to boost your magic damage by 5% per Intelligence point makes Intelligence scaling incredibly potent for all mage-style characters. Intelligence is always more valuable than Spirit which, by comparison, only offers a flat increase to mana pool.
Best stats for Wizards in Enshrouded:
- Intelligence
- Constitution
- Endurance / Spirit
- Strength / Dexterity
Best stats on each gear piece for Wizards:
- Helmet: Magic Crit
- Chest: Health
- Pants: Health
- Boots: Health Regeneration
- Gloves: Damage
Enshrouded: Best Wizard Spells
Due to the cumbersome animation of casting spells with your staff, it's recommended to use these spells sparingly, such as an opener to a tough fight or during windows of opportunity mid-fight. Your wand will make up most of your overall damage!
- Heal Channel (Your bread and butter heal)
- Fire Ball
- Ice Bolt
- Chain Lightning
- Acid Bite (Huge conal AoE damage)

Version 1.0.0.0 Changes for Mages (Changelog Published October 14, 2026)
The developer's changelog for the full 1.0 release says the biggest combat focus of the update was the mage classes. Here is what matters for this build:
- Skill tree reset: the first time you play version 1.0.0.0 with an existing save, your skill tree is reset, so you will need to spend your skill points again.
- New level cap: the maximum player level is now 50, and fully upgraded equipment reaches level 55.
- New skills: Aerial Wand Attack, Wand Evasion Attack, Advanced Necromancy, Totem Mastery, Blast and Cast, Puncture, Barrage and Survival Instinct were added to the skill tree. The developer also reduced the costs and buffed the effects of many skills.
- Wands: wands now have heavy attacks, a free aiming mode in the combat section of the gameplay settings, and special abilities that enemy attacks no longer interrupt while casting. Target switching with wands and bows is faster after an attack.
- Spells: there are 9 new types of spells, more tiers for existing spells, and an eternal version of every spell, so you no longer run out of charges. Area-of-effect spells show a new ground cursor at the target position, and spell balance was reworked.
- Spell charges: versatile spells can now be found as loot, while more unusual ones are only available by crafting. Several rare resources were also removed from spell charge recipes.
The specific skills named in the build above were not listed in the changelog we reviewed, so treat the order as a starting point and re-check it against the reworked tree.
