Everyone who has been playing AFK Journey knows that the AFK Stages in AFK Journey are the most important thing when it comes to progression in the game. Some people think that these stages are infinite, however, that is not the case.
The AFK Stages in AFK Journey go only up to stage 1125, afterward what awaits players is the Trial of Abyss.
This guide will walk you through what the Trial of Abyss is, and how you can unlock it so that you can further boost your progression.

What is Trial of Abyss
Trial of Abyss is one of the game modes in AFK Journey where players can go and challenge Floors to clear them and get rewards.
The Trial of Abyss is the next stage of progression after players have finished all AFK Stages, and are eagerly awaiting the release of the game’s first season.
In the Trial of Abyss, you face a set team of enemies, each separated into Floors. The mechanic is quite similar to the Legend Trial, however, in the Trial of Abyss you can challenge the floor with a mixture of all factions, rather than just using one, like in the Legend Trial towers.
Similar to the Legend Trial, the Trial of Abyss gives out rewards for each cleared floor, while also giving small rewards for each 5th cleared floor.
The Trial of Abyss first opens on the 18th day after a server’s launch and releases with 330 Floors in total, which then continues increasing after a set number of days.
On the 39th day of the server’s launch, the Trial of Abyss will have reached its maximum floors of 450.

How to Unlock Trial of Abyss
Unlocking the Trials of Abyss is simple, yet it may require that you have been playing for some time.
There are two prerequisites to unlock the Trial of Abyss:
- Clear Main Story - The Last Leg
- Completed AFK Stage 1125
The Last Leg is the final part of the main story of AFK Journey, and AFK Stage 1125 is the final AFK Stage currently in the game.
After you’ve achieved both of these prerequisites the Trial of Abyss will unlock in the map - Remnant Peaks 8. It will be marked with a red hand and you can go there to start the challenge and get rewards.

Trial of Abyss Rewards
The Trial of Abyss gives out rewards for each cleared floor, while also giving additional rewards for each 5th Floor clear.
The rewards that you can expect as a reward for each floor clear are the following:
- Hero Essence x100
- Forging Stone V x50
Hero Essence is used to level up heroes, and more importantly, to help them get through each 10th-level bottleneck. The Forging Stone V, in turn, is used in crafting the highest level of Equipment in AFK Journey, so both of these resources are quite useful for any player and will allow them to push further, and prepare for the upcoming season - Song of Strife.
