Fans have been anticipating news for The Boys Season 4 ever since the end of the third season of the show. Since the beginning of March, the official The Boys TikTok account - theboystv, has been releasing new content about the show. This was already indicating that we would soon receive an official update from Prime Video.

Finally, we got a trailer for Season 4 and a release date for the premiere. After seeing the first look into the upcoming sequel and the new cast, we are even more excited for the show. Find out all we know about The Boys Season 4!

The Boys Season 4: Plot

The teasers for Season 4 are being released at full speed as we already have an official synopsis for the upcoming sequel of The Boys:

In Season 4, the world is on the brink. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscly thumb of Homelander, who is consolidating his power. Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca’s son as well as his job as The Boys’ leader. The rest of the team are fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they have to find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late. 

From what we can see in the trailer and what the synopsis suggests, the separation of society between Homelander supporters and Starlight supporters is growing bigger and more aggressive. The battle between the good superheroes and the bad ones is practically open at this point. It will be interesting to see whether Homelander will be able to protect his good image yet again. With all the bloody scenes teased in the trailer, we will definitely witness his gruesome and heartless actions again.

On the other side, we have Butcher's team, which is more or less separated. The main characters are taking their own initiative in dealing with the evil Supes without the guidance of their manipulative leader. However, we expect them to reunite at some point in order to defeat the enemy that seems to be growing stronger by the minute. With its new additions to the team and its influence on politics through Victoria Neuman, Homelander is the one holding all the cards now.

The Boys Season 4 will continue the timeline after the events at the end of Gen V Season 1. The producers are keeping the storyline intact and are thoughtful about how the plot intertwines with each other. Unfortunately, however, the future of the Gen V series is still unknown due to the tragic death of one of the main actors of the show. We are yet to learn more about the production plans.

The Boys Season 4: Cast

We will see our favorite The Boys characters in Season 4 as well. The confirmed cast includes Butcher and his team, Starlight, A-Train, The Deep, Ashley, Homelander, Victoria Neuman, Black Noir 2.0, and more.

One of the exciting aspects of this season is the addition of new actors to the show, especially Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Jeffrey's character was shown in the Season 4 trailer having a conversation with Butcher. We still don't know much about him except that he is wearing a suit and curses all the time.

Vought is also introducing some new faces - Firecracker and Sister Sage, who will most likely fill out the ranks in The Seven. It seems like Sister Sage will have a significant role in Season 4 based on her conversation with Homelander in the trailer. She appears to not only understand Homelander but also encourage him to manipulate people while also pitting them against each other. Nonetheless, there will definitely be some intriguing new interactions with these characters, which will greatly impact the events in The Boys.

The Boys Season 4; Release Date and Where to Watch

It has been officially announced that The Boys will premiere on July 13, 2024. The first three episodes will be released simultaneously on Prime Video. Subsequently, the remaining episodes are expected to air weekly.
