Teamfight Tactics Patch 18.6 - Standalone Client & More Changes
We break down every trait, unit, Augment and Wisp change in Teamfight Tactics patch 18.6, plus the standalone client launch.

Teamfight Tactics patch 18.6 is the Tactician's Crown patch, the biggest tournament of the set. It is also the patch that launches the dedicated TFT client, so the deploy is expected to take longer than normal across both PC and mobile.
You don't have to be competing for the crown to care. Last week's 18.5 mid-patch updates nerfed the dominant Kha'Zix and Brambleback strategies, and 18.6 follows with small buffs to the Wilds for the 4-cost lines. We will go over every change in 18.6, from the standalone client to traits, units, Augments, Wisps and bug fixes.
Teamfight Tactics 18.6 Highlights
- Standalone client: the dedicated TFT client launches with this patch, and it lays the foundation for improvements in 18.7 and beyond, leading up to Set 19.
- Cosmetics split: newly released Little Legends and Emotes will no longer be shared between TFT and League.
- Appreciation missions: simple missions arrive in Patch 19.1, plus extra compensation for players who bought cosmetic content.
- Balance: Blossom, Sprykin, Kobuko, Rek'Sai, Murkwolf, Malphite, Nidalee and Sentinel are buffed, while Elderwood (9) is nerfed.
- Quality of life: in-game chat shows more lines, and Streamer Mode returns.
New Standalone Client
Riot says this initial release is the foundation for what comes in 18.7 and beyond. Because Little Legends and Emotes will be developed in different engines from now on, they will not be shared cross-game.
- Patch 19.1: with Set 19's release, you won't be able to use newly released Little Legends as followers in ARAM. If you already use a Little Legend, you can still take them to the Howling Abyss, along with the rest of the catalogue released before 19.1.
- Patch 19.2: TFT Emotes are split from the ones acquired in League of Legends. Anything released before that patch stays usable across both games.
Appreciation Missions
Riot acknowledges that the transition to Unreal has had its bumps. To say thanks and kick off Set 19, a series of simple missions arrives in Patch 19.1.
- Play 1 game in Set 19: earn 500 Treasure Tokens.
- Play 20 games in Set 19: earn one random Mythic Chibi, delivered as a token for a new banner that contains only Mythic Chibis, with no Unbound Tacticians or Mythic Little Legends.
- Own a Mythic Tactician or Arena before Patch 18.7: receive 2 Mythic Medallions.
- Own a Prestige Tactician before Patch 18.7: receive an Unannounced Mythic Chibi.
18.6 Balance Changes
This is a large patch, in line with its download size, and Riot says future patches will return to normal size.
Traits
Blossom and Sprykin are verticals you typically play with an Emblem, so the buffs mean you shouldn't need a reforger when you get one. Sprykin's backline option is also buffed, as most players opt to buff their melee tank or an Emblem-toting Rengar. Elderwood (9) keeps outperforming the other verticals even with its Emblem and skill dependence.
- Blossom: AD/AP 12/30/50/55% ⇒ 12/30/55/65%
- Elderwood: 9 Piece HP Bonus 25% ⇒ 10%
- Sprykin: BFF Ranged AD/AP 15/28/33% ⇒ 15/30/38%
Tier 1 Units
Kobuko and Rek'Sai often get dropped from boards before the early and mid-game ends. The buffs should also raise the power floor of reroll Teemo and Veigar comps.
- Kobuko: Spell Healing (AP) 285/335/480 ⇒ 300/350/550
- Rek'Sai: Spell Healing (AP) 10/14/20 ⇒ 10/16/24
Tier 2 Units
Brambleback's nerf hurt Murkwolf's comp, and since he's never the primary carry on reroll Ravager or Riftbeast boards, there is room to buff him.
- Murkwolf: Empowered Attack Damage 65/100/160 AD ⇒ 65/100/180 AD
Tier 4 Units
Malphite gets a better AP ratio on his shield and ability damage. AD Nidalee dies fast to Ahri and Zyra boards, so she gets more survivability and a stronger third cast. Her AP form has yet to emerge as a primary carry this set, so it gets the bigger buff of the patch, though Riot calls it relatively small. Sentinel gets a higher shield HP ratio, which makes items like Warmog's better.
- Malphite: Shield 735/885/2000 (AP) ⇒ 750/925/2000 (AP), and Spell Damage (AP) 40/60/2000 ⇒ 100/150/2000
- Nidalee (AD form): Heal 300/450/2000 (AP) ⇒ 325/550/2000 (AP), and Third Cast Bonus Damage 125% ⇒ 140%
- Nidalee (AP form): Empowered Attack Damage 185/275/2000 (AP) ⇒ 195/295/2000 (AP), and Third Attack Damage 330/500/3000 (AP) ⇒ 350/525/3000 (AP)
- Sentinel: Shield HP Ratio 10% ⇒ 12%
Augments
Clockwork Accelerator and Plot Armor are not up to par with the other combat Augments. Shopping Spree is the worst-performing econ Prismatic on 2-1, and Unrivaled was hit hard by the Kha'Zix nerfs.
- Clockwork Accelerator: AS per Proc 10% ⇒ 12%
- Embiggen: Bonus Pixie AD/AP 50% ⇒ 35%
- Plot Armor: Base Resists 8 ⇒ 10
- Shopping Spree: Initial Gold Granted 6 ⇒ 7
- Unrivaled: Rengar Heal Share 25% ⇒ 50%, and Kha'Zix Mana Share 50% ⇒ 70%
Wisps
Emblems can become powerful win conditions, so they cost more at the Curio Cart. Middle Path gives a shop full of two-star 3-costs, which is too consistent for its cost when it fits your comp.
- Curio Cart: Emblem Cost 15 ⇒ 17
- Middle Path: Cost 4 ⇒ 5, and Upgrade Cost 3 ⇒ 4
Bug Fixes and Quality of Life
Riot points to the Follow the Fix website for a broader look at fixes, quality of life improvements and the cosmetics conversion process. The biggest highlights are in-game chat that shows more lines with better-sized text and a lighter, less intrusive window, plus the return of Streamer Mode.
- Fixed some consumables switching places on the item bench after being used
- Blighting Jewel no longer grants more AP than intended
- Calculated Loss now grants gold at the beginning of the next planning phase
- Slightly Magic Roll now grants its HP and size correctly
- Cooking Pot is excluded from Coronation and Spreading Roots
- Flexible and U.R.F. are now mutually exclusive
- Gambler's Blade no longer drops gold on PVE rounds
- Hard Commit no longer grants ineligible emblems
- Moonrise and Solar Gift Wisp upgrades no longer appear in the shop when Blossom is inactive
- Choncc or Treat: Solo Leveling is disabled due to a bug
- Carousel release wait time is slightly shortened
- Buy XP and Reroll hover states are easier to see on PC, and /Deafen is back as an in-chat command
- Clear Mind and Cluttered Mind no longer grant XP erroneously, and Nesting Anvils no longer fails to grant the component anvil and gold when the bench is full
- Various crashes, tether visuals, projectile movement and missing item borders on mobile are fixed
Cosmetics Converted in 18.6
73 cosmetics are re-added this patch, in addition to a couple of Arenas that aren't listed. That includes 1 Prestige Chibi, 2 Mythic Chibis (Chibi Bewitching Yuumi and Chibi Dragonmancer Kai'Sa), 2 Mythic Unbound (God-King Garen Unbound and T1 Pyke Unbound), 1 base Chibi (Chibi Ezreal), 49 Little Legends, 13 Mythic Booms, 6 Legendary Booms and 1 Standard Boom.
And that covers all of the changes in Teamfight Tactics 18.6. You can read the official patch notes on the Teamfight Tactics website. If you missed the last update, catch up with our 18.5 patch notes, or read how the developers created Kobuko.
