Rimworld: 13th Birthday Event, Giveaway & Sale

Rimworld turns 13 on November 4, 2026, and Ludeon Studios is marking the day with another community event. The developer announced it in a Steam post on October 26, along with a sale on the base game and its expansions.

If you've spent years running colonies, fending off raids or collecting mods, this is a chance to show off what you've made and maybe win something. Below, we cover the event rules, the giveaway, the sale and a few ideas for what to submit.

How the Birthday Event Works

Ludeon says the birthday celebrates 13 years of colonies, raids, mods, updates, fanart, videos and stories. To take part, you send the studio your RimWorld creations. According to the official Steam announcement, anyone who enters goes into a random giveaway for a set of Fangamer's storyteller pins.

Here are the rules:

• One entry per person.
• What counts: fanart, in-game screenshots, gameplay videos, writing and other creative media. Gameplay videos must show vanilla, non-modded content only.
• Human-made only: every submission has to be human-made work.
• Where to enter: reply to the @LudeonStudios birthday post on X, or share a link on the Reddit birthday megathread.
• Deadline: participation closes on November 6 at 11:59PM Pacific.

Giveaway Details

Recipients will be announced the following week on the X birthday post and the Reddit thread by @LudeonStudios. Winners are contacted on X or Reddit by the LudeonStudios account and no one else, so be careful if someone else reaches out. You must respond before November 30, or someone else will receive the giveaway.

Fangamer may be unable to ship merchandise to certain countries, so check the shipping help page before you enter.

What to Submit

Not sure where to start? Ludeon suggests a few ideas, though you aren't limited to them:

• Birthday themes: cakes, decorations, presents and celebrations.
• Screenshots: your colonies, gravships, throne rooms, containment facilities and ideoligions.
• Artwork: drawings of your colonists, pets and bases, comics of your colony's shenanigans, and speedpaints.
• Videos: gameplay videos, edits and montages.

Birthday Sale

RimWorld and its expansions Odyssey, Anomaly, Biotech, Ideology and Royalty are all on sale for the birthday event. If you've been waiting to add one of them, the discount runs alongside the celebration.
