How to Join & Play the Frostpunk 2 Beta

After years of waiting, our first glimpse into the world of Frostpunk 2 is finally here. While there hasn't been a ton of information leading up to the release of the game, judging by the trailer alone, we can see a huge step up from the original in terms of budget. Building up your city, keeping your villagers happy, and making stressful decisions were the core elements of the first game, and we can hopefully expect to have a similar experience with Frostpunk 2.

The sequel to the popular post-apocalyptic city-builder will officially launch on July 25th, but a select number of players are going to be able to play the game during a one-week-long public beta test. Here is how you can join and play the Frostpunk 2 beta!

How to Play the Frostpunk 2 Beta

The Frostpunk 2 beta will only be available for one week, starting on April 15th and concluding on April 22nd. The only way to participate in the beta is by pre-ordering the Frostpunk 2 Deluxe Edition, which also includes a couple of other features as well, including a 3-day early access period for the full launch, as well as 3 DLCs which will be developed after the full release of the game. Even though the official launch of the game will be on most major consoles, the beta is only available on PC through Steam and Microsoft Game Pass.

After pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition, you should be able to find the Frostpunk 2 beta in your library once it officially begins at 7 PM CEST / 1 PM EDT / 10 AM PDT on April 15th. The expected size of the beta is around 30 GB, so make sure you have adequate space on your HDD or SSD.

The Frostpunk 2 beta will feature a part of a sandbox mode called 'Utopia Builder', and there will be only two language options available: English and Simplified Chinese. We currently don't know how much content there will be in the beta, but hopefully, we will see a good amount of stressful replayability, similar to how the original played out.
