The wait is over for Dragon's Dogma 2 fans. Capcom's community team announced that the Dark Arisen expansion went live on October 9th, 2026, along with a launch trailer.

Dark Arisen brings three major additions to the game's fantasy world, and Title Update 4.0 lands for the base game on the same day. Below we break down what each one adds, based on the official announcement.

What Dark Arisen Adds

The developers describe three new major additions. Each one gives returning Arisen a reason to jump back in.

The Forsaken Dominion of Norgan

Norgan is a new story and region in the snowy north. It adds a loot-based relic expedition gameplay cycle, and the once prosperous land has fallen to ruin, so expect fearsome new monsters and powerful foes.

If you care about both fashion and function, there is a side-quest chain in Norgan. Finish it and you unlock a feature that lets you change the appearance of weapons and armor obtained in Norgan to that of other gear. The gear keeps its original stats and performance.

The Lost Rites

The expansion also adds 12 new dungeon challenges called the Lost Rites. They appear on the base game map throughout Vermund and Battahl. These dungeons offer rare equipment and legendary treasures that were previously wielded by Arisen of days past, assuming you can overcome the trials set by the Pathfinder.

New Official Pawns

Like the original game, Dark Arisen features Official Pawns, which are Pawn characters created by streamers and creators. You can add them to your party via the Rift. The first new batch is live and includes three characters from the Capcom Collectibles video series, and some existing Official Pawns have been updated too.

Title Update 4.0 and Other Changes

Title Update 4.0 is also out today for the base Dragon's Dogma 2 game. The announcement lists these highlights:

  • Hard Mode, which can be applied to an existing or new save.
  • An option to restart the game at any time using the same save data.
  • Support for FSR 3 Frame Generation and DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation.

The Character Creator also has new Hairstyles and Tattoos, which you can use right now for your Arisen and your Main Pawn.

In the months leading up to Dark Arisen, the team added more. The number of equippable weapon skills went from four to six, and an Eternal Ferrystone now offers optional, easier fast travel. Game optimization and stability improved as well. If you are returning after a long break, the developers suggest reading their previous patch notes to catch up.
