As you know by now, Netflix's new show Baby Reindeer is based on the real story of its director and main actor, Richard Gadd. It wasn't surprising that as soon as fans learned this, they started delving deeper into the story, trying to uncover the real people who inspired the characters in the show. Online investigators began speculating on the real identities of every character, prompting Richard Gadd to speak out about this ongoing research.

Despite his efforts to urge people to stop, since their accusations were hurting innocent individuals who were suspected, fans managed to uncover the real-life Martha. Now, the real Martha is not only publicly known but has also spoken up regarding the constant messages she receives from fans of the show and her opinion on Baby Reindeer and Richard Gadd. 

Who is the Real Martha?

The information about the real Martha was very scarce. Richard Gadd was devoted to keeping the real identities of his characters hidden and avoided saying any specific details about any of them. He changed the name, appearance, and some mannerisms of his real female stalker to make her less recognizable. In an interview with GQ, Richard said:

"We’ve gone to such great lengths to disguise her to the point that I don’t think she would recognize herself. What’s been borrowed is an emotional truth, not a fact-by-fact profile of someone."

Despite his and the production's efforts, fans of the show supposedly managed to find the woman who stalked Richard Gadd years ago. The woman, who has been the main suspect for Martha, willingly talked to the Daily Record about her constant issues after the show aired.

The Real Martha's Response to Richard Gadd's Baby Reindeer. 

The woman, who has been suspected as the real-life stalker of Richard Gadd, wants to remain anonymous. The 58-year-old Scottish woman, who spoke publicly about her experiences after Baby Reindeer premiered, says that she has been receiving constant death threats. After fans of the show accused her of committing all the terrible acts of Baby Reindeer, the woman became a target on social media. This is what she had to say:

"I've had death threats as a result of his show despite the fact that a lot of the things he claimed are just not true. Someone online said, 'If I find you I will kill you'. A guy in North Carolina said that he and other people were going to stalk me
like I am supposed to have stalked Gadd."

The woman goes on to deny the accusations made against her but mentions that she and Richard Gadd were acquainted at some point. However, she said that she never did anything to Baby Reindeer's director. The Scottish woman described how devastated she is by the way people have been treating her and how it has been affecting her. 

"I got two hours' sleep last night. I thought, what if his supporters really do things like that?"
