One of the main ways in which No Rest for the Wicked differentiates itself from other games in the genre is through the town upgrade system, as well as housing. You are not only able to buy and customize your own home, but you can also continue investing your resources into the town of Sacrament, opening up new shortcuts and upgrading all of the different vendors in the marketplace. Improving the tier of the vendors will allow you to buy more advanced crafting materials, new weapons and armor, as well as many other ways to improve your character and house. As your realm is not tied to your character, this will also allow you to use these features on any of your alts.

Upgrading the town is worth the investment, but all of the different structures and vendors require quite a lot of resources and time in order to upgrade. In this article, we are going to go over the best No Rest for the Wicked building upgrades that you should go for as soon as possible!

No Rest for the Wicked: Best Buildings to Upgrade

No Rest for the Wicked currently has 10 main sections of buildings into which you can invest your resources. Although most of them are useful, we are going to recommend the 3 most important ones for your progression. All of these upgrades are going to require a certain amount of Wood, Ore, and Clay, so make sure you save up those resources so you can reinvest them back into the city of Sacrament. Here are our recommendations for the best building upgrades in No Rest for the Wicked:

Fillmore's Smithy

The first building you should focus on upgrading is Fillmore's Smithy, which is the blacksmith building in Sacrament. By upgrading Fillmore's Smithy, you will gain access to a higher tier of Ingots, which will allow you to upgrade your weapons and armor pieces without having to mine any of the resources yourself. Once you upgrade the smithy to Level 3, you will be able to purchase Copper, Iron, and Silver Ingots, as well as a different assortment of weapons and armor.

Fillmore will also offer you higher tiers of Pickaxes and Shovels, which you are going to need if you want to continue upgrading the rest of the vendors in Sacrament. By upgrading the blacksmith, you are going to make all future building projects a lot faster, as higher tier tools will make it much faster to mine and dig the resources.

Whittacker's Crafting Shack

While Whittacker is a vendor who you will primarily use to buy some furniture for your house, he does sell something extremely valuable for your progress in the game. Whittacker is where you will be able to purchase the Woodcutter's Axe, which allows you to chop down trees in the open world. The Woodcutter's Axe is much more important than the Pickaxe or the Shovel, as most of the building upgrades in the game require two or three times as many logs of wood as any of the other resources. By upgrading Whittacker's Crafting Shack, you will be able to purchase higher tiers of Axes, including the Iron and Silver ones for Level 2 and 3 respectively.

Having higher tiers of Axes will make all of your resource gathering much more efficient, and you will be able to upgrade most of the buildings in Sacrament a lot faster. We highly recommend going for Fillmore's Smithy and Whittacker's Crafting Shack first, as they will make all of your future progress a lot faster!

Gordon's Pantry

Our final recommendation is a bit different than the first two, and it will not be related to increasing your overall efficiency. As one of the most limited resources in No Rest for the Wicked is your food, we highly recommend upgrading Gordon's Pantry, as it will give you access to most of the important resources that you will need in order to cook. Even if you are not interested in cooking your own food, by increasing the level of Gordon's Pantry, you will be able to straight up purchase all of the healing items you will ever need, which will remove the entire aspect of gathering, saving you a ton of time in the process.

Those were all of our building upgrade recommendations for No Rest for the Wicked. By focusing on these vendors first, you will be able to make your entire progress through the game a lot smoother and much more manageable in general. Make sure to save up all of your Clay, as you will need it for the final level of each building upgrade. For more No Rest for the Wicked news and guides, check out the rest of our website!
