Last week, the long-anticipated collaboration with Avatar began, and we finally received the full set of powers in the game: the four Mythics—Firebending, Waterbending, Earthbending, and Airbending. While using them may seem straightforward, there are hidden mechanics that most players don't know about. Discovering these may come down to either blind luck or extensive research and trial and error. In this article, we will teach you everything you need to know about mastering the new Avatar Mythics, so you can unlock your full Avatar potential in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2.

Secret Tips & Tricks for Every Avatar Mythic in Fortnite

Before we dive into each Mythic, you should know how to find them. Although every Avatar Mythic is part of the regular Fortnite loot—found on the ground, in chests, and from Supply Drones—you can always get them from their specific altar. These altars are usually located in their matching Elemental Shrine, and there are eight Elemental Shrines scattered throughout the game. For exact locations, check out our guide here.

What’s interesting is that these altars can appear randomly across the map. I've discovered different altars inside houses and other loot spots, but sometimes they're not there in the next game. They are marked on the map with an Elemental symbol related to the altar. So keep an eye on your minimap, and if you spot one of the four Power symbols, it means an altar is close by.

Waterbending Mythic Tips & Tricks in Fortnite

Everyone knows the Waterbending Mythic is a powerful weapon with one of the longest ranges in the game. It can hit targets up to 280 meters away without any drop in projectile trajectory. But what's less known and utilized is its healing ability. If you're in water, you can restore 5 health points with every tick. This even works in the green river around the Underworld. We recommend using this method even if you have other healing items because it's essentially free and you'll recover to full health in no time.

However, this healing feature doesn't work if you're taking Storm damage. So if you're caught in the Storm, try to escape as quickly as possible or use traditional healing items like bandages, healing kits, and Patch Up services.

Earthbending Mythic Tips & Tricks in Fortnite

The Earthbending Mythic is a versatile item with both offensive and defensive capabilities. Although it's powerful, dealing 85 damage per hit, landing these hits can be challenging due to significant projectile drop and slow boulder travel time. But there's much more you can do with it.

You can use the boulders to demolish structures effectively, as each one deals 300 structure damage. This allows you to quickly take down enemy bunkers and walls. Then, you can swiftly switch weapons to catch your opponents off guard. Additionally, placing a Stone Wall instantly obliterates any building wall or enemy structure.

Another feature of the Stone Wall is its ability to launch players into the air if they are nearby. This can be particularly effective if you're on the flying island or atop a mountain, as it may cause opponents to die from fall damage.

One last tip for using the Earthbending Mythic: you can avoid fall damage with the Stone Wall animation. Simply press your ADS button while in the air, and you’ll be locked in the animation, negating any fall damage.

Airbending Mythic Tips & Tricks in Fortnite

The Airbending Mythic is one of the most exciting and effective mobility items ever featured in Fortnite. It prevents fall damage in two ways: if you're in driving mode, you won't take any fall damage automatically; and if you're airborne for any reason, you can negate fall damage by using the ADS button to execute a double jump just before landing.

Another feature of the Airbending Mythic is its ability to glide over water while in driving mode. However, if you're crossing the green river in the Underworld, you won't be able to gain the three dashes unless you exit driving mode.

The Airbending Mythic also benefits from every movement speed increase item in the game, including the Banana of The Gods, the Zeus Medallion, and the effects of Flowberries. Using any of these items will boost your speed and significantly enhance your jump height while in driving mode.

For a true Aang-like experience, enter rifts while using the Airbending Mythic. This will teleport you high into the air without exiting driving mode, allowing you to cover vast distances as if you were flying.

Firebending Mythics Tips & Tricks in Fortnite

In my opinion, this is one of the most disappointing Mythics. Its use is limited mainly to dealing damage, and it doesn't offer much else. I would much rather prefer the Chain of Hades. The Firebending doesn't set anything on fire, and its attacks often miss, making them feel clunky.

However, like the other two Mythics, it does have a redeeming feature: you can negate fall damage. By using the ADS button while airborne, you trigger the Kick animation, which effectively prevents any fall damage.
